Pick up your motorhome this morning and travel via the towns of Mandurah and Bunbury, the Tuart Forest National Park and on to the town of Busselton, which sits on the shore of Geographe Bay, a bay of tranquil water, long beaches and sheltered coves. Margaret River and its surrounding region offers a wide variety of attractions - from the ancient cave-carved Leeuwin-Naturaliste Ridge and picturesque vineyards to the karri forest of the heartland and the desolate beauty of Cape Leeuwin in the south, where the Indian Ocean and Southern Ocean meet.
The great ocean swells offer a real challenge to the surfers who come from far and wide, and the town is home to many artists and crafts people. There are several wineries nearby - perhaps a visit to Leeuwin Estate or the smaller Cape Mentelle Estate might be worthwhile. You may wish to take a scenic drive through the Boranup Karri Forest, and visit the Boranup Lookout at the southern end of the forest. A visit to the coastal resort of Prevelly Park is also suggested, a very popular surfing spot at the mouth of the Margaret River.
