Dover Island

Tremble Island

On the west coast of Canada, not far from Vancouver is Seymour inlet. In the centre of this is a narrow water inlet is Tremble Island.

Tremble island got its quirky name due to the fact it is said to tremble in high tide when the powerful water surges reach their peak. You won't be able to reach the island, but you can see it from a distance. Look out for the signs that stranded boaters left during high tides while they waited for the waters to recede. Some of these signs are said to have been there over 100 years.

Fairview Lawn Cemetery

We all know the tragic story of the Titanic, but not everyone knows what happened afterwards. This cemetery in Halifax is a sad reminder of the loss of life during the tragedy. Those who were not able to be sent home and were not lost at sea were brought to Halifax where they were buried at Fairview Lawn.

Each victim was given a memorial headstone, and history enthusiasts can now take a trip to this small part of the aftermath of possibly the world's worst maritime disaster.

It might seem like a morbid place to visit on holiday, but it is an important part of history, and the peaceful surroundings are the perfect resting place for those who lost their lives. Prince Edward Island

The Banff Merman - Is this proof of fish people living in the waters around Canada? Unfortunately not, the Banff Merman is a taxidermy experiment located in the Indian Trading Company store where you can visit this terrifying specimen and browse the products for sale.

Joggins Fossil Cliffs - A trip to Nova Scotia wouldn't be complete without a visit to the Fossil Cliffs. This is an area famous for great fossilised finds dating back more than 300 million years. Take a trip to see what you can find for yourself.

Sasquatch Caves - Can you find bigfoot? If this legendary beast were real, this is one of the possible locations for its home. These above-ground caves are an intriguing walk just don't forget to let the motel who owns them know you are there.

Alexander Graham Bell Museum - The telephone has to be one of the most significant developments in history and the man that invented it lived in Nova Scotia. His home town of Baddeck now houses a museum dedicated to the man and his invention.
