Itinerary

Often referred to as "Cowtown", this cosmopolitan city is deeply connected to its wild Western heritage. Calgary is not only Canada’s energy hub economically, but also culturally, ensuring there is never a dull moment.

Downtown Calgary offers all the amenities of a major city—shopping, fine dining, museums, and endless entertainment. The surrounding neighbourhoods each boast their own distinct character, filled with boutiques, breweries, and an abundance of public art. Two major rivers, the Bow and Elbow, flow through the city, continually enriching its parks and the lives of Calgary’s residents.

Distance: 148km (92miles)

The drive from Calgary is a smooth and scenic journey, taking you from the prairies, through the foothills, and into the stunning Canadian Rocky Mountains. The foothills, located just east of the Rockies, mark the transition to the majestic peaks ahead. Along the way, you will pass through Canmore, a town situated just 7 km (4 mi) east of the Banff National Park entrance. Canmore hosted the Nordic events of the 1988 Winter Olympics and serves as a crucial wildlife corridor for deer, elk, moose, bears, wolves, and cougars.

As Canada's oldest, Banff National Park is renowned for its breathtaking mountain landscapes and rugged peaks. Spend the day exploring all it has to offer. Ride the gondola up Sulphur Mountain for stunning views, relax in the hot springs, and take a leisurely walk down Banff Avenue to browse the shops. Don't miss a visit to Two Jack Lake and the scenic shores of Lake Minnewanka.

Available Excursions:

Distance: 288km (179miles)

Travel along the Icefields Parkway, one of the most scenic highways in the world. The Columbia Icefield is the largest icefield in the Canadian Rockies: be captivated by towering snow-covered peaks, crystal-clear blue lakes, and the iconic Athabasca Glacier. Visit the breathtaking Athabasca and Sunwapta Falls and experience the thrill of walking on air at the Glacier Skywalk.

Experience the beauty of Jasper and its surroundings. Cruise across the serene waters of Maligne Lake, ride the Jasper SkyTram to the summit of Whistlers Mountain for panoramic views of the town below, and unwind in the soothing Miette Hot Springs. Keep an eye out for wolves, caribou, beavers, and bears, who roam the area freely!

Distance: 317km (197miles)

Today you are crossing Mount Robson Provincial Park, named after the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies – a jagged, snowy pinnacle rising 3,954m above largely undisturbed wilderness.

Clearwater is convenient to explore Wells Gray Provincial Park, referred to as the ‘Waterfall Park’ due to its many amazing waterfalls. Wildlife sightings are common so be sure to keep an eye out for black and grizzly bears, timber wolves and coyotes.

Distance: 295km (183miles)

Experience British Columbia’s historic gold rush past as you travel past historic buildings, through unique geological landscapes, and to parts of the original Cariboo Wagon Road that were once used by more than 10,000 pioneers during the 1860s.

Distance: 130km (80miles)

Drive through the scenic Coastal Mountains and stop at Duffey and Joffre Lakes with stunning views. Check out the mountain resort of Whistler, full of interesting shops, boutiques and galleries. Rent a bike or kayak, take the Peak 2 Peak Gondola for panoramic views, or explore one of Blackcomb Mountain’s scenic walking trails.

Distance: 134km (84miles)

Leaving the mountain town of Whistler, enjoy a spectacular drive which winds it way down to the vibrant city of Vancouver. Take time to stop near Squamish for a ride on the Sea to Sky Gondola where you will be rewarded with sweeping views of Howe Sound. As the Sea-to-Sky Highway curves one last time, the mountains open up to reveal a breath-taking skyline of Vancouver - considered one of the world's most beautiful cities. Spend the final night in your home on wheels close to the city for a short drive to the depot in the morning.
