Milford Sound Nature Cruise

A newly introduced cruise on board a small catamaran with a two hour duration and English only commentary. Cruise the full length of the fiord in comfort on a modern, spacious catamaran with comfortable indoor seating and large, tall windows for panoramic viewing of spectacular Milford Sound. Enjoy a large and wide open outdoor, upper level deck for excellent wildlife viewing including seals, dolphins and penguins when in season. A specialist nature guide shares their local knowledge with lively and informative commentary while roaming the vessel, and the wheelhouse is open to join and speak with the skipper. Raincoats are provided on board. Lunch options are available for purchase (must be pre-ordered) and complimentary tea and coffee is provided.

Milford Sound Scenic Cruise and Kayak

Cruise and Kayak Milford Sound includes a Milford Sound Cruise, entry to the Milford Discovery Centre and Underwater Observatory and one hour of kayaking around serene Harrison Cove. Enjoy excellent up close viewing opportunity of wildlife including seals, dolphins and penguins when in season, and informative commentary is provided. Following the cruise, disembark at the Milford Discovery Centre and descend 10 metres down 64 steps underwater into a spacious viewing chamber with uninterrupted 360 degree views of the undersea world to view rare black coral and colourful sea creatures such as blue cod and butterfly perch. Then gaze through crystal clear waters as you kayak around Harrison Cove with a specialist kayak and nature guide in an intimate, up close nature experience. No previous kayaking experience is necessary and there is an automated lift for easy entry and exit from the kayaks. Then board a vessel for the return cruise to the Milford wharf. Lunch options are available for purchase on the cruise (must be pre-ordered) and complimentary tea and coffee is provided.

This is an interactive cruise where specialist nature guides share their local knowledge with lively and informative commentary while roaming the vessel delving into the history, geology and wildlife of the fiord. There is excellent wildlife viewing including seals, dolphins and penguins when in season. With raincoats available on board, there's a chance to get right up close or underneath the waterfalls. Following the cruise and Picnic Lunch, visit the Milford Discovery Centre and Underwater Observatory. The centre offers a rich, interactive experience with a journey through the natural history, geology and conservation efforts of this unique marine reserve as well as stories of intrepid Maori explorers and European pioneers.
